Hello all, our season opener is TOMORROW, please read the below which should hopefully address any questions you may have. Even if you are a regular, please look over as this meeting is unlike any other we run.
-
- The meeting will 100% be on – the pits and track are both clear of water and temperatures are forecast to be high (or high for January!). The spectator banks will be soft and wet given the recent weather, however as long as people follow any parking instructions and use their head rather than their right foot you will be fine.
- We are a former gravel pit with large grass banks for spectators parking and viewing and hard standing gravel lower down track side and in the pits. Given the recent weather, it will be wet and possibly muddy in places.
- There is a height limit of 2 meters for trackside parking – if your vehicle is higher than the this you will be asked to park in the overflow – this is to enable viewing for all in the arena and to protect the site.
- Gazebos are not permitted within the spectator area at all – please do not bring them, you will be asked to take them down.
- Upon arrival, please respect our staff and helpers and address them as you would like to be spoken to.
- The spectator area is generally accessible for all. All parking is first come first served with no reserving of spaces – if you wish to park together, please arrive together. There is an accessible toilet on the back straight. We do not have any dedicated disabled parking spaces – if you require hard standing ground, please aim to arrive earlier – the arena parking will fill up well in advance of the meeting start time.
- The gates to the site will open at 7am – we require a lot of staff to help with this meeting and need to get them all in prior to the opening of the site – DO NOT arrive on site early and wait in the lay-by – it will delay getting our staff on site. If arriving early, please feel free to wait in the nearby industrial estate and drive over at 7.
- Please car share where possible as this will aid getting all visitors in and out of the site.
- Dogs are permitted on site however should be kept on a lead at all times, cleaned up after with any waste taken away with you.
- No empty trucks / trucks carrying anything other than race vehicles will be permitted on site – either in the pits or overflow area. Pit space is a premium and this is not a meeting for cars to be sold / picked up at. Additional vehicles are not permitted in the pits – if you are bringing tools / spares, please pass them onto the racer off site.
- No cars are to be transported on site to be sold / collected following sale. If you have sold a car, please arrange for collection off site.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome to move around the site and into the pit areas through the day however please exercise extreme caution at all times.
Please keep the area around the track gate / entrance and exit lanes clear between races, wait behind the building and out of the way for the walkway to open.
Racers
-
-
- Please park closely in the pits – we have over 200 racers currently on the list and a limited amount of pit space. If you are able to “truck share” and bring multiple cars on a lorry, it will ease pressure for space.
- Please pull close to the ditch / banking / logs – it may only be a foot or so extra but every little bit of room helps!
- All Unlimited Bangers are to be in the lower pit area.
- Unders and Micro Bangers can use the top pit area.
- No engines / car noise until 8am at the very earliest.
- Scrutineering will be on track from 8.30am with the first race at 11am sharp.
-
There are 26 races scheduled (subject to turnout) – Micros will be all in, all day, other classes are likely to be split heats. Unders Classics – we will keep RWD and FWD cars separate for the heats as long as the turnout reflects the booking in list. We aim to give all racers the best chance at a full days racing possible. Finals are likely to be all in with the meeting finishing with 4 allcomers into DD’s.
Payments
Cash, Card & google / apple pay are accepted on arrival however cash is preferred to speed up admission. When on site, 1 catering van accepts card payments which is located on turn 4 – the other 2 and track shop are cash only.
I hope this covers everything – we look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
